GO BACK

ON THE ROAD

a glimpse back in the past, our past, the first office. the days of freedom, no responsibility and always good times.
the photo where the "vango" t comes from, pushing the van across the alaska line in 96. large format 4x6 (c)1998 cba "alaska and along the way"
the photo, the essence of life of travel. 4x6 large format (c)1998 cba "alaska and along the way-these are the good old days".
i remember waking up in the back bed of the bus, Brian was driving, there had been a loud bang and the van was at a complete stop, I remember thinking, "great, Brian must have hit a moose!". What actually happened was the battery blew up while driving (go figure), a good 6 hours of hackey sack on the side of the alcan before someone drove by-before cell phones, or atleast before any of us had one.
life sure was simple living out of the 1969 vw hotel, no rent, and always a new backyard!
somedays we set up camp for a little while.....
sometimes a chage of bed was neccessary and an upside down river raft sure felt like water bed, and you definately wouldn't miss the early morning river float this way.
at the border (illegal photograph), for some reason they liked to look through our stuff, all of it! no matter which countries border we were going thru, we always planned on atleast a four hour visit!
a prehistoric business meeting, well we didn't really know we were having a business meeting, but i guess that's what it would be called!
that van had over 2,500 autographs, poems, pictures, threats, stickers on it. it was a driving scrap book!
colorado river rafting days, the really good days.
