GO BACK

ON THE ROAD

on a recent 3 day getaway, some of the crew headed to the village of havasupai, on the western rim of the grand canyon, a small indian village exists at the bottom of the canyon. a short 10 mile in, 10 mile out walk, throuh the canyons. oh, the best part? hiking in on the full moon, a dimly magically lit canyon.

our tour guide met us in the lot about 8pm. we weren't aware that he was our leader. We gave him many names through the journey: show me, missouri, chopper, moon beam. he guided us to places we never would have went, he even scaled down the wall to the falls, in which a lot of humans pass up. the best guide.
about 6 miles in to the hike, the welcome to supai sign appears, this photographed on the way out.
setting up camp was nothing for a turtle called lewis
the trail down to the falls was trying and daring for those with a little vertigo. 180 foot falls
at times you would retaste what you ate yesterday.
squeezing through caves was the only way
ahh, the falls. the magic.
on the way back out we found Barney hung in the village, i guess they don't like purple dinosaurs, who does?
the view, from the lot, looked a lot different from the moonlight view a few nights prior.

I RATE THIS TRIP A #5 NOMADIC. CAN BE DONE IN THREE DAYS, GREAT BODY EXERCISE, FANTASTIC VIEWS.
