Thanks for coming here. If you made it here you are one of those people that we really want to read this and offer insight. All emails sent to us we read, ones that have ideas we save and revisit in the not so busy season. so thanks for you interest and support. See ya! Company policy and Environmental Concerns
Currenlty alot of our sandals are being made in a small out of work coffee
farm in Nicaragua. We taught a small community how to make sandals in
hope to produce a job for the community and create a flow of income, and
have a lot of fun! Without a lot of fun-who wants a buiness? Chris' social
work background desired to creat a small cottage industry in a LDC which
a town could benefit from an art project. All of our artists are paid
well, and our hopes is to grow the sandal business offering employment
for more of the community. Although the cities are beginning to bustle
in often forgot about Nicaragua, many jobs are difficult for people out
in the country. Our sandal making process is time consuming, and after
extensive training our sandal artists hand craft each sandal to perfection!
WE have been successfully working out of Nicaragua for a few years now!
It was my desire to create a product where there was virtually no waste- almost there - a bout 85% of our waste can be recycled into other products. Our future goals and recyclability of used sandals. When our volume reaches and amount where it makes sense to re extrude the polypro we will develop a recycling program in which used sandals can be re-extruded and added with new material to make sandals again. Currently our volume is not suitable for a re-extrusion project-but if we get there that will be our next project. If you ever have any ideas or suggestions, we are all ears. Love you people!
What's new with Nomadic state of Mind and the organic Tshirts? WE use domestically grown and sewn certified organic cotton, where we
can (currently tshirts), and will change the hoody's over when they are
available in domestically grown and sewn cotton.
